May Grandma Valentine's namesake live life to the fullest the way she did.

She came from England to the U.S. as a young bride. For a while she ran a bakery for workers in Lonsdale Mill in Rhode Island. She developed some nursing skills and took care of sick people. She opened her home to children who had lost their mother, some related, some just friends.

She was a happy-go-lucky person with a smile. People called her Diamond Lil because she liked jewelry. She was Aunt Lilie to a lot of people.
